He started piano very young but quickly found his first love when his uncle, respected Derry sculptor John Sherlock (OBE) gave him a trombone. He studied with Sean Cahill at the Irish academy of music in Westland Row. He toured the USA with the Irish youth orchestra under Garoid Grant and Hugh Maguire and played in the Irish youth jazz orchestra with Bobby Lamb from the Woody Herman band.Derry sculptor John Sherlock (OBE) gave him a trombone. His first professional acting and music role was with "The Passion Machine", appearing as Chuck in the premier production of Paul Mercier's "Drowning" at the SFX in a cast that included Brendan Gleeson and Joe Savino.

Played mainstage at Glastonbury, Paleofest, Eurokeenes de Belfort, Printemps de Bourges, Pinkpop, Pukkelpop, Francofolies de La Rochelle and literally hundreds more festivals worldwide. Budapest to Buenos Aires - the man has travelled.

Other artists with whom he has worked and played include: Phoenix, FFF, Liz McComb, Linda Hopkins, Gonzales, Brisa Roché, P18, Bost & Bim, Rachel Des Bois (Victoire de la musique), Eric Toulis, Jack Lukeman, Steafan Hanvey, Liam ó Maonlaí, Sal Bernardi (Ricky Lee Jones band), Carosel and Bill Shanley.
A favorite "musician's musician" he has been joined onstage at his gigs by such great musicians as David Gilmour, John Lord, Ian Paice, The James Brown band, Woody Allens' New Orleans band, Tom McGuinness (Manfred Mann), Barbero (Sierra Maestra band), and a multitude of other fabulous artists.
